Types of Attacks

• Attacks are limited only by human ingenuity

• Potential for exploitation type attacks

  • Extortion, amongst other things
  • An insider would certainly facilitate such an attack

• Confidentiality Attacks

• Integrity Attacks

  • Catastrophic - destruction of an entire file
  • Subtle - change some (but which???) data

• Denial of Service

  • Flooding, etc
